Prospects for innovative development of resource-type regions

The article is devoted to the patent method of forecasting in the industrial sector using the example of a coal mining region. The authors hypothesized that there is a connection between the high resource dependence of mining regions and the low level of their inventive activity. The results of patent analytics obtained during the research process, according to the authors, can help determine the direction of economic specialization and competitive advantages of resource regions, including cooperation with related industries
